
This nationally recognised course provides the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a slewing mobile crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) over 100 tonnes.
Commonly referred to as the C0 Crane Licence, this course covers the planning, preparation and operation of large-capacity slewing mobile cranes in accordance with applicable work health and safety and legislative requirements.
Participants will learn how to plan lifting operations, prepare and position the crane, safely move and place loads, and complete post-operational procedures when operating high-capacity crane equipment.
During this course, participants will learn how to:
• Plan and prepare for lifting operations
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and safety checks
• Set up and position a slewing mobile crane
• Assess workplace hazards and implement control measures
• Lift, move and place loads safely
• Communicate effectively during crane operations
• Apply work health and safety requirements
• Monitor crane stability and operational safety
• Complete shutdown, inspection and post-operational procedures
• Secure equipment and complete workplace documentation
This course is suitable for experienced crane operators working in construction, infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, heavy industry and major projects who are required to operate slewing mobile cranes with a capacity over 100 tonnes or obtain a C0 High Risk Work Licence.
Participants will complete both theoretical and practical assessment activities, including planning and undertaking lifting operations, conducting inspections and demonstrating safe crane operation in accordance with licensing and workplace requirements.
Successful participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0020 – Licence to Operate a Slewing Mobile Crane (Over 100 Tonnes).
Please note: Competence in this unit alone does not result in the issue of a High Risk Work Licence. Licensing requirements are administered by the relevant state or territory regulator.

Note : After completing any High-Risk Work Licence course, the worker is then required to submit their Notice of Assessment to WorkSafe with a passport photo and their High-Risk Work Application form including their Statement of Attainment within 60 days. If you require Australian Safety and Training Solutions to do this on your behalf, then the cost will be $120 plus GST which will include their passport photo per person.
