Participants will gain the skills and knowledge required to work safely at heights. The course covers risk assessment, safety equipment, fall prevention techniques, and emergency procedures. Practical training ensures participants can perform tasks at height, safely and effectively.

    • Safe work method statements (SWMS) and job safety analysis (JSA)
  4. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Types of PPE for height safety (e.g., harnesses, lanyards, helmets)
    • Selection, inspection, and maintenance of PPE
    • Correct fitting and usage of PPE
  5. Fall Protection Systems
    • Types of fall protection systems (e.g., guardrails, safety nets, anchor points)
    • Installation, inspection, and maintenance of fall protection equipment
    • Safe use of ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms

Assessment:

Participants will be assessed through a combination of written tests, practical demonstrations, and performance evaluations. The assessment will cover:

  • Knowledge of legislation, hazard identification, and risk control measures.
  • Competence in selecting and using PPE and fall protection systems.
  • Ability to develop and follow safe work procedures and emergency response plans.

Certification

Participants who meet the assessment and enrolment requirements will receive a Statement of Attainment from Halo Nation Training Pty Ltd (RTO 32485) for Work Safely at Heights RIIWHS204E.

Attendance or payment does not guarantee a competent assessment result. Any site authorisation or other applicable licensing requirements must also be met.

Course Duration

Scheduled duration: 1 Day. The booking confirmation will set out the delivery schedule and any pre-course preparation. Additional training or assessment may be required according to participant needs and the applicable training and assessment requirements; any additional time or fees will be discussed before agreement.

Prerequisites:

  • Participants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Basic understanding of English (literacy and numeracy) is required.
  • Participants must provide valid identification (e.g., driver's licence).

Prices shown are per participant for Perth company group bookings. Minimum group charges apply even if fewer people attend. If a trainer flies to site, the maximum class size is charged. Your written quote will confirm the total, applicable GST, administration, travel and any requested VOC or additional assessment costs. Full payment is due at least five business days before training, or on confirmation for shorter-notice bookings.

For high risk work licence courses, successful assessment does not itself issue a licence. Participants must meet WorkSafe WA’s requirements and lodge their application within the required period, generally within 60 days of the Notice of Assessment. Optional ASTS application assistance is $120 plus GST per participant, including a passport photograph. Your quote will confirm what this service includes and any separate regulator application fee.
